Wilton Coure 1 Certificate!

This was such a great experience, I learned
so much and would recomend this class
to anyone who loves cakes or
just for fun! I took mine at
Michael's Arts & Crafts Stores.
This is my Course 1 certificate and
am happy to share it with you!

Wilton Final Cake for Course 1

I can NOT even begin to say that I
am AMAZED that I actually made this!
Who would've thought after completing
only a 4 week class that meets once
a week, you could complete a cake like
THIS!!
The only thing was the roses melted a little after
traveling home from my class, but back in the
fridge & they looked great!
I was extremely happy with my results!
It can only get better from here! :)

Pink Buttercream Roses

Handmade pink roses from buttercream icing.
I made these for my Wilton Final Cake
pictures to follow!
I was so0 proud of myself for making
these, who would've thought they
are actually kind of easy (of course I still
ned practice!)

Straw-A-Colate Cupcakes!

Strawberry Buttercream Chocolate Cupcakes!
As my little cousin once called chocolate covered
strawberries "Straw-A-Colate"!
So I figured why not called these delicious
cupcakes the same! :)

Tie-Dyed Cake!

I made this cool tie-dye cake for my sister's birthday!
I used the Wilton color gels to achieve the colors
Teal, Rose, Violet, and Yellow!
I think next time I will use 5 colors!
It was pretty easy and soooo yummy!

Wilton Course 1 Cake to Eat!!

As soon as I got home from class,
you know I HAD to take a piece of this cake!
AMAZING!!! Did I mention it had strawberry
preserves in the center!
I was a little sad to cut it though because
of the pretty decorations, but it was worth it!

My Wilton Course 1 Cake!

My Wilton Course 1 cake!
I just HAD to make a red velvet cake
that we could eat too!
We had to make the course 1
Buttercream from the book which was OK!
My favorite part was decorating
it however we wanted!
I just love the colors of this cake
it's so girly like me!

ELMO Cupcakes!

24 Red Velvet ELMO Cupcakes!
The came out sooo much
better than expected!

Just a bit of a pain to carry 24 of these on
the subway into Manhattan (during rush hour),
but I do it all for my customers! :)

Backyardigans Cake

This was my first ever tiered cake! It cake out awesome!
The colors the Backyardigan figures and everything!
The 1st Tier was Yellow Cake with Strawberry Filling
and the second was Chocolate Cake with
Strawberry Filling! I even added a little extra
something around the two tiers by adding
colored tootsie rolls.
( Cool Tip: To make tootsie rolls into round
beads melt them in t he microwave for about 10
seconds then roll them out in between wax paper
to be flat, cut into about 4 pieces and just roll!
It is really sticky so make sure you put a little
confectioners sugar in your hands!)
HAVE FUN!!

Amaretto Buttercream Recipe

Makes about 2/3 cup

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
3 tablespoons amaretto

Preparation
Beat all ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth = DELICIOUSNESS!! :D

Taste of Heaven Cake

This cake was sooooo delicious!
It was a white almond cake with
Amaretto Buttercream frosting
( See Amaretto Buttercream Recipe)
A layer of strawberry marshmallow fondant
(homemade) covered the two tiers!

My Version of a Train Cake!

My first ever train cake for a 6 year old's birthday,
there are definitely a few things I would've changed,
(like never use cool whip as frosting) :)

The kids loved it especially the oreo cookies as wheels
,
which kept getting eaten by the 2 year old brother before
the cake was even served!

but what can you do there just kids and they loved it
that's the most important part! :D
